Nisqually Delta Restoration Project

Nisqually Delta Restoration partnership

picture of Dunlin, a small wading birdIn October 2009, after a century of diking off tidal flow, the Brown Farm Dike was removed to inundate over 700 acres of the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.  The Nisqually Delta Restoration Project web site offers access to a wide variety of information, including news, photos, video, and science reports about this project.  The videos are definitely worth checking out.  They show some of the bird species found there as well as salmon recovery and the new mile-long viewing boardwalk.

If you're a birder, you'll find useful the great information about when different species have been observed there.
