Femina & Fauna

This charming book of pop surrealistic images by artist Camilla d'Errico caught my attention because, although it wasn't specifically about the sea, it featured more sea creatures than one normally sees in similar works. But these sea creatures are not laid out on a dissecting table as seen in so many books on sea creatures, they are woven into her manga and anime inspired whimsy.
As you might guess from the title, this book is Camilla's studies of women and their animal companions. Most of the images are of paintings, but some drawings are featured as well. Her art appears in galleries from Vancouver to Berlin.

As both an approach and a practice, Contemplative Filmmaking is a way of seeing. It's an expressive form with a kinship to poetry.
