Searching on this site
As the volume of content on this site grows, it will quickly become impossible to scan it all. If the site is to be useful, it will be essential to:
- find what you're looking for
- find items of interest even if you don't know what you're looking for
This latter function is less obvious than the former one, but it should not be slighted. When this portal becomes really useful, it will be the "go to" place for people interested in marine media about the PNW. And a very important service provided by good resources is to offer relevant ideas to the lots of people out there with interests but who haven't yet formulated specific questions.
Of course, an ordinary "search" capability is also a must. There are currently two simple tools: a sort box in the left column, and a filter that allows the viewer to constrain reported content to specific criteria. These will be augmented as the site grows.
